	why is godzilla our band mascot? In 2001, Mr. Silva was trying to convince a talented saxophone player that she was going to do  very well at the District Honor Band auditions, so he told her she would crush the other players like Godzilla - she was the "Godzilla of Saxophone".  Well, soon other players wanted to be the Godzilla of their instrument, and it caught on.   At a Friday night practice, Mr. Silva showed a scene from "Godzilla 2000" to motivate the students to want to beat the students from other schools, and we became the "Godzilla Band".  At the end of that year, Godzilla made an appearance in the end of the year video at the Band Banquet and in the Top 10 Lists at the Lock-In.  We also have a tradition of rubbing the puppet Godzilla's head on the way out the door to the District Honor Band auditions.  And so, Godzilla is our band mascot, and we love him.
