Why Join the Band?
Band Is Fun - Learning to play an instrument is a whole new experience!  It is a challenge and a great way to spend some of your personal time by yourself or with other friends in the band.  When you perform songs for your friends and family, that feels great!  At Watkins you will spend a lot of time learning  important stuff like reading, math, science & history.  How about spending some of your time at school in a fun and active  class learning something brand new that you can use for the rest of your life?

You Can Do It - We will teach you everything you need to know to become a successful musician and performer.  Teaching instruments is what we do!  We will help you choose an instrument, learn how to play it, and give you opportunities to perform cool songs you know, and learn great songs you've never even heard.  Bottom line - if you want to learn to play an instrument, and you work at it, you will be successful and have a lot of fun on the way.

Band is Good for You
Band is a great social group - you need a good organization to be a part of in middle school and especially high school
It can help you become a better, more disciplined and more focused student
You can play an instrument for the rest of your life if you want to.
Everyone gets to participate in the performances - not just the best players.
You may have a real talent for music, and if you discover it, that can be a very cool experience.
